Friend

This is another of the backgrounds which I made during my latest video. I used Nuvo Shimmer powders with a floral stencil and took a print from the stencil as well as having the design through it. This is the print version. The arched die is by Photoplay, I'm unsure about the butterflies and I think the sentiment is by Whimsy stamps. When I get these things, I think I'll remember, but often don't and end up rummaging through the packaging (which I keep separately) to try to find out!
I really love the delicacy of this one!

Thanks

It seems that I haven't blogged for quite some time, so I want to put that right.
This card came about after looking at a couple of blog challenges.

I took a little 'artistic' licence with the sketch I'm afraid, I turned it through 90 degrees and squished the panels closer to each other. The coloured card was from some stencilling using Nuvo Shimmer powders. I made this video on using them and achieving a similar effect using Brushos and mica powder.

Happy Birthday

Here is a new die from Charlie and Paulchen, which is a circle with a few seagulls. I printed a piece of blue paper and cut one circle from that and another from white and inlaid the white seagulls into the blue sky. The lighthouse is a freebie die from a mag and I extended the cut slightly as the lighthouse was positioned on the right of the land and was in the way of the seagulls. The starfish is also by Charlie and Paulchen and the stamped sentiment by Avery Elle. The circle and square dies for the panels are from Presscut. Looking at this makes me feel calm somehow!

#cardforukraine

I think that every one of us is appalled and saddened by the devastating invasion of Ukraine by the tyrant Putin. The card making community is showing its support for the  by making cards in the colours of Ukraine's flag.
For my card I used an old pair of world map dies, whose origin I don't really recall, but I have had them for many years and scarcely used them. I simply printed the colours of Ukraine's flag onto some card for my die cut and made a sentiment to fit the circumference of the die-cuts using Word Art in Word on my computer.
The gals over at Color Hues Challenge quickly added these colours to their current challenge, so I'm delighted to be able to share my card with them!
I'd like to join in with their other challenge too which is green and gold so I'll be working on that today.
Let's all hope that sanity will prevail and this dreadful crisis will be peacefully resolved and SOON!

Sending Love

I acquired a couple of small envelope dies quite some time ago and could never quite understand why they had a small slit in them. Suddenly the light dawned and I realised that they were supposed to be interactive, in that a message could appear from out of the envelope. I spent ages fiddling around to work out how I could make it happen and get the stamping on the message in the correct place, but I managed in the end. I have no idea where the dies came from.
The bow was made with my bow maker threading the charm on as it was tied. The 'Sending' is by Simon Says Stamp, I think the LOVE is an old Spellbinder die. I stamped the envelope paper with a background stamp from SSS and the card for the sentiment was gold embossed using the same stamp.

I cut a slit in the front panel of the card to align with the slit in the envelope, so that the long tag could be inserted and hide the message until it was pulled out. I did put a stopper on the tag so that it couldn't be pulled out completely!
Mystery of the slit resolved!
